Attorney Glen Hannington is a retired Assistant Clerk-Magistrate from the Boston Municipal Court with fifty-two(52) years of trial court experience. He was employed by the Massachusetts Trial Court for (25) twenty-five years before leaving the court system in 1997 to become an Attorney. Attorney Hannington has been a guest lecturer at local schools as well as the New England School of Law where he received his law degree.
Attorney Hannington is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, United States District Court, United States District Court of Appeals, a Certified Conciliator for the Massachusetts Superior Court and admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. He has been involved in many high profile cases including but not limited to saving the "Peanut & Sausage Vendors" when the Boston Red Sox tried to eliminate the vendors from Fenway Park in 1998 and then the City of Boston tried to limit the vendors again in 2021. As a result of his representation, the vendors now remain a fixture at Fenway Park.
Attorney Hannington most recently represented several plaintiffs in their case against the Boston City Council and the Mayor of the City of Boston in the U.S. District Court. The plaintiffs prevailed as the Federal Court Judge ordered the City of Boston to redraw their redistricting maps.
Attorney Hannington also took on the Archdiocese of Boston for the parents of the now defunct St. Peter school in South Boston. As a result of his representation, the newly formed St. Peter Academy was able to recover funds as part of damages against the Archdiocese. When a group of local senior citizens were told that "Bingo" was being eliminated, Attorney Hannington filed suit in Norfolk Superior Court and days later the governing agency re-instituted "Bingo".
Attorney Hannington served nine (9) years on the Canton School Committee and is at present an elected commissioner (Chairman) for the Canton Housing Authority these past eighteen (18) years. He is a Member of the Association of Clerk Magistrates, the President of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, Executive Board for the Cape Cod Baseball League, Member of Internal Committees at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (formally the Massachusetts Hospital School), Canton Lions, Sons of the American Legion, and he enjoys boating, fishing and golfing.
